Welcome to my new blog! I want AltRock News (ARN) to be different than any other alternative news source on artists. While I was researching different news sources (Altpress, Rocksound, Alternative Nation, Stereo Fox) I noticed one thing that they all had in common. You had to pay for different parts of the website like Premium or magazines. The magazines make sense. It costs money to print and ship, but at least Altpress has them at a reasonable price. My plan for my website to be 100% free. No extra fees. It won’t cost anything for a magazine or premium. I won’t have bias, and I will have merchandise on the store sold at a reasonable price. One of my goals is to have no ads, but as I am just starting out I may have some to help cover the cost. I know what it’s like to hesitate about asking to buy merchandise because even though I can pay for it, it usually isn’t that cheap. I want to make my website stand out from all the others. Right now this is just a class project. But, as this is a project I enjoy, I hope to continue this blog even after I am done with this class and school.
